Time-out.

I've been slacking horribly with the picture a day thing, I have to be honest I've only picked up my camera one time. I'm actually going to have to take a break from it for a couple weeks. Things are going to be crazy busy around here, and I doubt I'll be able to even log in to my account!

I do however, promise to take TONS of pictures in the meantime and update you all asap! :)

My big boy!

Here's my little man being such a big boy. He holds his head up so well, and I swear he looks like he's trying so hard to crawl. My baby boy is growing so fast! :tear:

Every since I stopped nursing I feel like all I ever get done is washing bottles! So picture 19 pretty much sums up where I spend a good amount of my day

Happy [late] Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day! I love Valentine's Day because it's the ONE day I can sucker my husband into being a little romantic. This year was probably one of the funnest VDays! First Adam had beautiful flowers delivered to me on Friday, even though the guy called and asked ME for directions because he was lost and ruined the surprise. Adam sends me flowers about 3 times a year, and every time he sends me flowers he sends me a different type. This year was a beautiful arrangement of lilies, orchids, roses, and carnations. It also had some yummy chocolates tied to it. Saturday we went to Baltimore for the evening and ate at The Cheesecake Factory. That was the first time we had ever been to one so we were so excited. There was quite a lengthy wait (uh, a little over a hour) but it was SO worth it. People had told us that they give a generous amount of food, but oh my lord! We had literally more than half our dinner to take home with us. After eating dinner we drove around the city to explore everything.

Before we left Adam grabbed the address to Charm City Cakes (you know, the show Ace of Cakes with Duff on The Food Network) So we punched it into the GPS and headed on over. Too bad the GPS doesn't have an option that tells you when you're entering the ghetto, though! Anyways, we found it, snapped some pictures, and got the heck out of dodge! After that we headed to Arundel Mills to do some shopping! By the time we got home we were so exhausted. But all in all we had a wonderful day. I spent it with my two true loves. Adam spoiled me (like always) and Kolton was an absolute angel. I feel so bad when he has to ride in his carseat for so long, but he's so patient. While we were at The Cheesecake Factory one of the managers came to us and said that everyone was talking about our baby. I thought, oh no he was getting on people's nerves with his squealing. But she said "Everyone is talking about how gorgeous he is!" It totally makes my day when people acknowledge how precious he is. Of course me and Adam think the world of him, and think he's the most perfect thing ever, but when other people say it too just means that he IS the most precious thing ever, lol.

So here's some pictures of our special day!

My little Houdini

When I lay my sweet little boy down he's tightly swaddled. He's not quite a big enough boy (although sometimes he thinks he is) to sleep any other way. He slings his arms around and wakes himself up. So, today when he woke up from his nap I went to get him, and this is what he looked like (remember, he's TIGHTLY swaddled when I lay him down)

No says I.

I once had a friend who said to me "You know, since you're from West Virginia people probably think you're a skank and think you have dirt floors." After the initial, WTF are you talking about slipped from my lips I started to wonder, why in the world do people from West Virginia get such a bad rep. ...then I stumble upon something like this video. My dad told me to watch it, said it was the funniest thing I'll ever watch. The sad thing is, what makes it so funny is I can tell this guy IS from West Virginia. He's from Boone County (doesn't that sound so redneck itself) that's FAR from the county I'm from, but now I understand completely why WV people get such a hard time! Just for the record, I'm NOT a skank and I do not have dirt floors. lol

Sweet 16..

Day 16:

My sweet, chunky, lazy beagle girl

Chicken Little.

I've been cooped up in my bed the past couple of days. I started having a horrible toothache over the weekend and by Monday I just couldn't take it. I finally broke down and called a dentist. Turns out I have an abscessed tooth. Which I'm not shocked. For my entire pregnancy I had horrible tooth aches. That's the only problem I had with being pregnant. Unfortunately I was high risk and I couldn't have any work done. Leave a cavity unattended long enough, it gets abscessed and needs..a...root canal! Something you should know about me I LOATHE the dentist. From the smell to the sound, I can not stand it. So I'm quite scared. My dentist put me on some antibiotics and some pain killers which seems to be helping. However, I'm still dreading that root canal. I have to go Tuesday to get a couple cavities filled and luckily I'm going to be drugged for that. I'm just too much of a chicken. So anyways, that's why I've been slacking a little on my blogging responsibilities. I did however take a picture :)

So here's my day 15 picture:

Day 12

I don't really cook a lot (don't cook, not creative, I'm pretty much the worse wife ever, huh?) So I almost had to take a picture just so you guys would believe it, but I actually cooked dinner tonight.

So my picture of the day is sliced sweet potatoes

This is what life is all about...

the littlest things that can make you smile. Here's two of my most favorite people making me smile when they weren't even trying.

Day [seven] 11

The town we live in has this awesome farmer's market set up every Wednesday and Saturday, since we were already out we decided to swing by and see if they had anything good. Awesomely enough the Amish families had a stand set up with baked goods. So, I picked up some bread, a pie, and some cookies. Let's just say I was so getting on my husband's nerves with all those carbs seeing how he's dieting. But I thought the food was so yummy, it's most definitely worthy of being my picture of the day.

I'm not sure if you can see the prices, but they aren't bad at all. 3 for the bread and 4.50 for the BEST pecan pie you will ever eat. So if any of my local friends every want to go with me just call and we will head out one Saturday!

Works every time.

Today we had some major running around to do, and unfortunately for Monster boy that meant lots of time in his car seat. He's a big fan of it at first, but after the 2nd hour or so he's over it. I dropped my husband off at the service center to pick up the car after they were finished doing TONS of work to it. (Ugh, we wont even go there) Which was our last stop, however Kolton didn't understand we were on our way home and he wanted out of the car. He was screaming like crazy until the car started to move..then it was pure silence. After I pulled into the drive way, got out of the car, and opened the back door to get him out, here's what I seen...

Is he not just the sweetest thing ever?

Day 10.

Since I forget to post a picture yesterday (and I was doing so good) I decided to make day ten have two pictures. Partly because it helps with my story.

We have a really long drive way, and I hate backing up out of it so I just drive through the yard. Usually it works out perfectly, but today the ground was soft and I got a little stuck. AND of course it was right after we washed the vehicle. My husband was a little upset with me about it. He said "ugh, BABE! we just washed the car!" and for those of you who have been around me and Adam you have probably heard the "ugh BABE!" a time or twenty.

So the first picture is of the marks in the yard:

and here's the "horrible amounts" of mud I got on the clean car

Day nine.

This is the print of my favorite one of Kolt's PJs. They're getting a little snug, and I think they may need to be retired soon, but I just love them so much!!

Just for giggles..

I remember how excited I was to decorate Kolton's room. I wanted it to look like something out of a nursery magazine. His room is by far my favorite in the house. I can still remember how excited we were to go pick out paint samples, buying bedding, picking out furniture. However, I quickly realized it all ends up being about practicality. I have some before and after shots of Kolton's room so you can see the changes that had to be made.

Before:

If you notice the changing table is by the window. That had to be moved for two reasons, 1) it's by the window. We have wood windows and like I said before they are REALLY drafty. 2) It was over the heat vent and his room was staying so cold. I LOVED the layout then, but here's the changes.

After:

Now you see the difference? Plastic on the windows (which like I said before, our new windows should be put in within the next couple weeks) wires everywhere, furniture rearranged. Also, we're making the transition to his crib. He's getting too big for his bassinet, but when we tried putting him straight in his crib he wasn't having it. So we're getting him use to being in his own room and then once he's ready for it we will put him in his crib. (Last night was the first night he slept all the way through in his room and he did fantastic!) So you see how quickly my fancy nursery was changed?

Picture day 8.

I just think this is the most hilarious picture. NOTE: I DIDN'T really give him the fry! But by his face, it looks like he wanted no part anyways.

My handsome little man..

I feel like it's been forever since I've posted a picture of Monster boy. I chose this picture so people could see how rotten he is. Kolt's been grounded to his gloves the past 2 weeks (as you can see in the picture) because he scratches himself like something awful! I'll wake up in the morning, take him out of his bassinet, and see scratches all over his face. The thing is, I keep them trimmed so low and I file them so they're not sharp. I don't know how that boy manages it, but he does.

day 7

We're going to start doing little renovations to our house, and the first step is the windows. I'm super excited because this house has old wood windows and they leak air so bad. However, my garden window in the kitchen is being replaced with a standard slider. I'm going to miss it so much!

So my garden window is picture of the day today.

day six

Next to Monster Boy and Adam bubble baths are my favorite thing in the world. I seriously could sit in one for hours. I'll sit in the water until it turns cold and then I'll run more hot water to heat it back up! So I thought a bubble bath was worthy of being a picture of the day!!

Check me out!

Anyone who knows even a little about me, knows I'm not crafty at all. However, I attempted to do something crafty today, and it came out quite nicely (I think)!

The previous owners of the house left these stools in the kitchen for us. I've been wanting to redo them since we've moved in. One, it's totally two much red. Two, they were a little dirty looking. So this weekend I went out and got the fabric (which was on clearance -SCORE!) and today I worked my crafty magic. I'm quite proud of myself. Sure, something like this may seem so small to you crafty ladies, but to someone who's working their way up the crafty ladder it's major progress!

Here is the before:

Picture day five.

If you notice the air freshener is around the gear shift and not the mirror like where most people put it. I picked this scent out because it's my all time favorite. It reminds me of being in high school, because it was always the scent I had in my car. However, when my husband seen it, he noticed one thing..that it was pink. So, a sure way of knowing when my husband drives this vehicle is just looking where the air freshener is placed.

Are you ready for some football?

Even though they're not in the Super Bowl, Kolt still has to represent!

Just for the record, we're rooting for the Cardinals. We're always a big fan of underdogs, and we LOATHE the Steelers. I was raised if it was okay to hate anyone in this world, that'd be the Steelers. So, let's goooo Cardinals!!
